Florence Flora

2/103 photographs series, c-type prints, 21cm x 29.7cm

A taxonomy of all the plants found at Florence Mine in August 2019. Florence Mine was the last deep working iron ore mine in Europe and the collection was inspired by local poet Norman Nicholson who wrote about the ways in which flora and fauna reclaimed the land that had once been used for industry. The record was made as part of a Self Seeder residency held at Florence Arts Centre.
