Workshops and skills sharing 

I love sharing my knowledge of experimental photography and 16mm film with others. I’ve worked one-to-one with artists developing a new body of work as well as leading group sessions for people who have never touched a camera before. I care about making processes which are often seen as inaccessible or technical, feel hands-on, playful and open. 

I’ve delivered workshops for individual artists and filmmakers, as well as group sessions on behalf of: Alchemy Film & Arts, Signal Film and Media, LUX Scotland, The Sustainable Darkroom, Tullie, Edinburgh Film and Video Arts Collective, Florence Arts Center & Land Art Collective. 

Filmmaking

• 16mm cinematography with Bolex / aaton 
• Hand-developing 16mm film with plants, including seaweed and coffee
• Cameraless filmmaking techniques, including photograms, phytograms and direct animation onto 16mm film
• Expanded cinema projection
• Reworking 16mm archive footage

Photography

• large format photography (4 x 5), medium format (120mm) and 35mm photography
• Developing stills with plants
• Cameraless photography techniques, including solargrams, pinhole, photograms, cyanotypes, anthotypes and lumen prints
